I have a smart playlist with sixty songs in it and I keep record of amount of
plays. iTunes is not keeping count properly, it keeps saying I have played
tracks a lot more than I have. For example a track that had been played 238
times a couple ofdays ago has no been played 255 times and I

I can only suggest that you’ve hit the play by accident and not noticed!
I do not think a few seconds of play adds to the count but if it does that
might explain it!

I guessed it was probably you, smile. I am definitely not hitting the play
button. I have noticed this now for several weeks, cannot think why it is
doing it.

It does take into account tracks played from my I pod but this is still not
the case. I am wondering if other smart lists that I have created are doing
it, but as far as i am aware a track can only be registered as playing once and
not multiple times.
