I agree that Transmit is worth it, but if you want a free FTP client that is
accessible, a number of people use Cyberduck. I'll point you to the download
link at the MacUpdate site, since the version at the Mac App store cost $23.99:

Thanks for that Esther, I will definitely check out these recommendations. I
only want something really simple in terms of ftp, so this might be the go.
