I don't own an IOS device--just a little Macbook Air, and I want to read
iBooks from iTunes. Is there any work-around that will allow me to do this?
I can't even download a sample of a book--iTunes knows I don't have anything
but the Mac.

I don't think you can yet read iBooks on the Mac. I have tried, but
Stanza or other epub readers won't do it on the Mac. I believe the problem is
the books are DRM protected.
