I am having problems installing Maverick on my 2009 iMac model.
I went to App store and pressed the free upgrade button. That downloaded about
5 GB. On download completion I was asked to agree the licence which I did. I
was then asked to select the disk on which to install Maverick

I have checked my time machine preferences and they show that Mac Backup is the
time machine backup disk. I will now try turning off time machine completely
and see if that does any good.

Didn't I read that the installer is removed after the installation. So I don't
see why you should need to redownload. Incidentally, When I do a cmd i on the
installer, the properties report that the Installation.app folder is
5.31Gigabytes. You are getting the hole file?
