Hi Eric,
Some OCR apps like Prizmo and TextGrabber let you select an existing photo from
your camera roll as an input source instead of taking a new picture using the
camera within the app. I'll paste in some instructions I wrote up a year ago,
in response to someone's question on another list
You will do this from with in the app. Just choose photo library when doing the
photo thing. You can do this in an mms as well. just choose attach photo and
choose library and choose the png that you just took.

Yes, this works within an app, You actually press and release the home and
power buttons, which is what distinguishes this action from a hard reset (where
you continue to hold down both buttons). The phone makes a noise like a
shutter closing. You can then find the screen

It will work in an app. Just make sure you have the screen curtain off. Iv'e
made that mistake before.
