As per prior posts I am having problems installing Maverick because the
Maverick installer thinks that the target disk (Mac HD) is being used for time
machine backups.
Yesterday Mac HD did somehow get marked as the time machine target disk. I
think this happened because before

I'm sorry, you are having this trouble. You are following the advice of backing
up. If you have confidence in your backups. I would proceed to do a clean
install of Mavericks. So you know you will be starting from a clean system. I
