Hi, Folks. Am upgrading from Fusion 3 to Version 4. Should I try
and install from the mounted dmg, or should I copy Fusion 4 app to
the Applications folder and install from there? Also, will it know
that I'm upgrading? thanks in advance.

I'm not sure how you can upgrade to Fusion 4 as it is now obsolete. However,
just run the app from the mounted image.

Yeah I downloaded it with a lot of hassle from the site so it still exists but
just copy the app to the app folder and then run the app. it will ask you to
put in your serial number then ask you to authenticate and you should be ready
to go. Make sure you have your machines compatible with
Fusion 5 is recommended for best compatibility with Mountain Lion.

True true, but as I always say we work with what we have and thus far those of
us using 4.13 or what ever the latest is works pretty good, a bit slow but
nothing at least I can't handle.
