Hi Deb, If you are syncing your Safari bookmarks the Instapaper bookmarklet you saved on your iPhone should transfer over to the bookmarks on your Mac. However, it's pretty simple to set this up from scratch on the Mac. On any of the web pages that tell you to drag and drop bookmarks or bookmarklets you navigate to the link, bring up the context menu with VO-Shift-M, and copy the link. Then you create a bookmark, and paste the link into the address field, again, by using the context menu shortcut (VO-Shift-M) on the Safari "Show all Bookmarks" page. The most convenient place to create the bookmark is in the "Bookmarks Bar", because the first nine bookmarks in the Bookmarks Bar can be activated in Safari with the shortcuts Command+1 for the first, Command+2 for the second, etc.
I posted step-by-step instructions for Ian on how to do this for Instapaper just a few weeks ago, so I'll point you to the Mail Archive link for my post: • Re: Instapaper and Safari: http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-access@mac-access.net/msg05153.html Incidentally, although I tend to write instructions using the standard VoiceOver keyboard shortcuts, you can easily adapt these to work with TrackPad Commander gestures and/or navigation with QuickNav, which a lot of new Mac users who come over from the experience of first using an iPhone may prefer. The main reason for giving directions with the standard shortcuts is that they work for everyone, regardless of whether they have the newest machines, and the instructions also work for people running older versions of the operating system (e.g., these instructions should also work for Leopard, and even Tiger, perhaps apart from the shortcut to quickly jump to the next Safari table on the "Show All Bookmarks" page). Writing out the instructions takes longer than actually doing them! HTH. Cheers, Esther On Dec 18, 2011, at 11:07, Deb Lewis wrote: > Hi!! > I've had Instapaper on the IPhone for awhile.
