I've scanned around the usual sources (Macrumors etc) but haven't come across
much. anyone heard anything about any MacPro updates? I've about 4000 euro
sitting in a research acount to buy one but the funding period is running out.

I didn't hear November specifically, just late this year. Mac rumors has
mentioned it a couple of times. November would be good though, I'm eagerly

The latest one I've seen is a 12 core Intel Xeon dual processor machine. I'd
love to buy Gordon one for when he comes home. That might give him a boost
during his recovery; but currently we don't have the funds :-c

Yes indeed Garry that was the rumour I saw. Sadly the time frame ends November
30th! Mind you, I suppose the 8-core machine will keep me going for a bit..
I suppose this next question is targeted at the "visual" users on list… Are
those 27" LED displays worth the money?

I've read the rumours about the release of Intel's new Sandy Bridge processors
and I have to admit it sounds yummy. I'd love to get Gordon a 16-core machine
like that so I might hang on and see what happens towards the first quarter of
