When the next iteration of osX comes out, we will have iBooks on the Mac. But
for now, it is iDevices only.

Hi!
I haven't used the Mac or iPhone in a good while so I'm not up to speed with a
whole heap of things.
Wondering if there's any way of reading iBooks purchased from the iTunes Store
on the Mac or do they have to be read from an IOS device.

Hello Anne,
I have just tried Adobe Digital Edition but alas it does not read my ipub book.
I will now go have a look at kobo
Many thanks.

Hello.
I added one of the iBooks to Adobe Digital Editions library, but whenever I try
to read it, the program crashes, so I guess this is a no-go for reading iBooks.
Too bad!

Hello Mary and Paul,
Adobe Digital Editions Preview will read a number of DRM protected books on the
Mac. However, I don't know whether iBooks are included as I can't buy them in
English from the French iBookstore. I do, however, read ebooks from Kobo all
the time on my Mac.
Cheers,
Anne
On
Paul,
You can't read a drm epub book on your Imac as far as I am aware, and that's
what IBooks are.

Hi Paul,
I'm afraid you're out of luck with most payed iBOoks. They're encrypted and
only readable by the software on the phone. I agree an iBook reader for OS X
would be nice, but I don't see this happening. There may be a way to break the
encryption, but I've no idea how and would advise again
