To be fair they did offer an unlimited trial, the problem is that, as far as I
can see I was trapped with an unusable voiceover because I had let the trial
expire. Or more accurately thir web server made it impossible for me to
purchase the voices.

Resetting VoiceOver is done via the VoiceOver Utility
Control+OPtion+F8 under the File menu, you have 3 options:
Reset basic VoiceOver preferences,
Reset custom VoiceOver preferences, and
Reset all VoiceOver preferences.

Go right 5 times, go down once, go right 9 times, then press VO-Space. That
unchecks Additional Voice Options.
