the amount that background sounds are turned down via "ducking" when VoiceOver

Cool, so does this mean, if I turn sound check off, my music won't be turned
down as much when vo talks. I wish Apple would make that an option to not have
voiceover duck the music, I don't much care for that feature. Hopefully the
lack of sound check will lessen this issue for me.

It does. I hear hard limiting as well and sometimes the eps are quieter then
usual I can hear vo over them and I don't want to. lol! Not for car talk
anyways but everything else sounds very good when I listen.

lot of problems call "Normalisation". As Colin rightly says, to synchronise the
volume of playback on your audio output so that content plays at the same audio
