Hello:
Instead of erasing the HD, since the internal HD by default has 1 partition,
just delete the partition, and when creating a new one, name it Macintosh HD.
After the above, re-install the OS and then shutdown.

see if you can exit the set up, if not, just power it off and the next time
it's started, it should start the set up assistant for whoever uses it.
