All you do is just go to the text area and type. It's like ios in that way.
when you are done, hit enter.

With Messages on the Mac iMessage and Text Message are 2 different things,
before you can receive Text Messages you need to activate this function by
filling in a verification code.

I guess we'll see when the update is coming. Funny how it takes a law suit to
sometimes trigger a response. Read more at the article link below.

Wait guys I would suggest if you don’t mind being clear if we are talking
iMessage on the iPhone or the mac. I said what I said believing we were
talking about the iPhone. The mac does hold different limits.

No it's been the case since iMessage came out in 2012 under mountain lion. I
sent audios videos, ogg files, pictures, text files and once a contract pasted
in to see if I could make the app freeze. So far I could not.
Take care.

To add to the person's message, you are not jut limited to m4a files. I sent
some ogg files as well as some mp3 files. You just have to have the right thing
to play them on your mac if you get one. I have also sent pictures as well for
my sighted iMessage buddies.
Take care and be blesse

Sorry misread the question. No you cannot use iMessage to make or receive
audio/video calls; that's the purpose of FaceTime. iMessage however allows you
to send audio/video files as part of the message.

Now that FaceTime audio is out I hope you can do it through IMessage. I have
not had time to even update my supplemental materials for mavericks as I need
to focus more time on my graduation projects, how ever that is something I do
want to play with when time permits.
Take care.

Hi,
iMessage on the Mac is pretty simple to set up. If you open up the Messages app
chances are it’s already configured, or if not you just need to go into the
accounts or System Preferences and add it. I’d be very surprised if it wasn’t
already working though, especially if you’re running the
