i keep trying to set the choice to contact is available but every
time i exit skype and relaunch skype, the choice i select in
notifications is set back to announcing "you have signed in" like
it is not saving my preferences properly.

Yep that's the way to do it. Available is online, or I think also away. I can't
remember but I think availiable is online.

something called notifications settings under conversations w
i have just installed the growl application.
however when i choose the applications button in setup i see no
applications listed.
i tried running skype and still no applications when i ran growl.
how do i resolve this problem?
