OpenOffice seemed to install easily for me. I grabbed a dmg file, did the usual dmg thing and when I run it, it runs X11 [XWindows] for me automatically. I'm unsure if X11 is a default install or if I install it as a part of the Developer pack or a custom install. I thought it was default nowaday
