If it was a kernel panic , then it came about while trying to play the
disk image. So first i had to look up what VLC was, I found it in
Version Tracker as freeware. Then there are several downloads, I guess
I need the one telling me all versions since I don't have any as yet
on my computer,

Tech Republic is a big compu-publishng outfit, mainly serving IT
people. They own, or or owned by, Zif, or ZDnet, of some such ... I'm
pretty sure. My Sis, the computer nerd, used to work for TR. I still

Has anyone else had trouble printing since downloading 3.9? My HP
DesignJet print command is causing all my software to suddenly quit.
The exception is iphoto which is printing without a problem. I've
updated my printer software, corrected permissions and restarted
