I have searched and can’t find a problem like mine.
Every since I have upgraded to Yosemite, Safari quits during the night. It’s
crazy Never does it on startup as some of the other post. Never does it when
using it, as the other post, some say it won’t quit and they have to use Force
Quit.
Are these issues related to John’s question(s)?…
All of my running apps slow to an absolute crawl (not unexpected)
when the used memory is extremely low. Very rarely, an app may
exhibit strange behavior or even quit.

I am getting ready to add a SSD drive and I need to back it up first.
Is there a setting in preferences that I can make so it will not shut down
during backups?

a third party app published by Shirt Pocket.

Computer starts up fine off external HD.
Internal HD appears in sidebar, but will not mount or open
