I used 2 instances of SSerial in the pinfile which was incorrect. I'm told 1 instance covers 8 SSerial channels. I built a new .rbf with 1 instance and still couldn't get it to work. PCW confirms that the encoder/stepgen thing should work just fine so I'm pretty much out of ideas. On a side not
