How does it fail to build for you with llvm-gcc-4.2?

It build for me, on Mountain Lion with Xcode 4.6.3, provided I do not have a
previous version active and I do not use the universal variant.

With clang, it fails:

./lib/notmuch-private.h:479:23: error: visibility does not match previous
declaration

./lib/notmuch-private.h:52:13: note: previous attribute is here
#pragma GCC visibility push(hidden)
            ^
1 error generated.
