Well, I have VLC2 and SDL2 working on 10.6 PowerPC now :)
VLC2 looks good now, no messed up colors anymore. SDL2 needs more testing, but
I am able to run Grafx2, for example, and it actually works (but very slow, not
sure if the code is that bad or SDL2 is that slow as such).

Ok, you inspired me to finally sort out the mess with X11.
And it works in fact.
Transmission-x11 is running on 10.6 ppc now with GUI too.

I actually wonder if we get SDL2 and VLC2 working then as well on Leopard
via X11 backend then.

Ken, thanks for fixing it for gcc7, and great to hear that it works with
GUI.
I tested it in CLI on 10.6 ppc, that worked fine, but X11 one fails to
launch. (However, it is likely that it is not a problem with the code or
with the 10.6 ppc, but rather with conflict between Macports and

transmission-x11 works on 10.6 PPC.
(I had to do a little minor surgery on the transmission source code to make it
build with gcc7.)
Ken
If you’re having an issue of some kind, it’s probably best to open a ticket
where it can be worked through. The exact specifics usually matter.
One quick test however is to install xterm and lauch xterm via the menu in
macport’s XQuartz. Then try to run your gtk software from that xterm window.

can you please give a try to 'ReSolve':

depends on GTK3.
I normally create binaries and DMG for x86_64,
targeting Quartz, last one is:

Hi,

I'm hacking on GTK2 and GTK3 quartz support for Leopard... intel first,
they were working well enough to get gimp starting up (gtk2...)
The only other GTK3 app I use is meld, which is now
nothing special.
if it’s not working for you, we can probably work through it in a ticket…

Thank you, Ken, this is helpful.
Could you say whether you did any specific manual setup for X11?

It looks like while even gtk4 builds fine with no hacks (and of course gtk2 and
gtk3 do), none of the apps built against then actually work. Everything crashes
on start.
Could anyone confirm if any GTK version is known to work on a PPC system, and
point at a specific app to test?
