I've been trying to set up mysql on osx 10.6.5 for two days now using macports.
I finally got past the mysql_install_db error, now I can't get past this one:
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password:

After updating mac ports
(sudo port selfupdate)
I ran "sudo port upgrade outdated".
One of the first items updated was Apache2.

The bind example file: "db.127.0.0.dist" differs slightly from the one which I
have been using for many years now.
The example file contains:
$ORIGIN localhost.
and
1D IN NS@
Where as the file I have been using contains:
$ORIGIN 0.0.127.IN

I'm trying to install zim, but am running into problems which I detail
below. I have just installed mac ports, and have the latest version of
Xcode. I am running Snow Leopard, and for what it's worth, I'm new to
