Each time I run:
sudo port upgrade installed
I get the following repeated upgrades:

---> Computing dependencies for darwinbuild-legacy

That was it! Thank you!
... so I temporarily mv-ed that directory, where I have other useful stuff
(e.g. witeshark, some network & security tools, etc.). I wonder what'd

rsync://rsync.macports.org/release/ports/ [default]
If not you are still going to be trying rsync.

Ok
I was showing the output to try and find out what is wrong with rsync.

to debug?
Also does anyone know how I can view the log file? Or why macports can't find
recoll?
Thanks for the help

I used subversion to get the ports tree.
Rsync isn't working and I don't know why? The first time I got macports it
worked?
I synced via the files I got through subversion. But selfupdate doesn't work,
failing because of rsync. I have edited my sources.conf file.
So I am trying to figure out w

It does sound like what you need to do is run selfupdate (and then you should
be able to install recoll and/or whatever else you want from MacPorts).
Do you have any details o

This is not possible. I'm behind a proxy which only allows access via
