I got the gnuplot compiled successfully with mac port 2.03.
when I try to do plot, it crashed with the following error.
[Debug] 23:22:30: ../src/common/fileconf.cpp(991): assert "szValue.empty()"
failed in DoWriteString(): can't set value of a group!
fileconf.cpp doesn't look comes fro

aha: checking the gcc-4.2 version showed no such file! The problem was
that Xcode 4.0.2, already installed, needed updates. I did the updates,
so that I'm now running 4.0.2 (4A2002a), and the gcc-4.2 version
information is:

Yes if you want to purchase it now you can't
BUT if you got it back then it still shows in the purchase tab of the app store
app as "Xcode for Snow Leopard". At least it does show for me and also shows as
updated, so I guess it's the same as the one you can get from the developer
page.

You can only download Xcode 4 for SL

I'm still showing xcode in my app store purchase list. Look it up there, it
shouldn't vanish from there.
If it says installed you do still have the installer in your applications
folder.
