Thanks Ryan. You solved my problem.
I typed this:
sudo port clean --all installed
sudo port clean xpm
and then I rebuilt gimp using:
sudo port upgrade --force gimp
and everything worked!
Thanks, Rob

In Terminal, what happens when you enter:
sudo ls -l /Volumes/Alta/mythtv/recordings
Are permissions enabled on that volume? The root user needs
permission to read and write the mythtv/recordings directory.

Yes, I have similar. /Volumes/Alta/mythtv/recordings, etc...
Do you know what my IP address should be? Would 127.0.0.1, localhost, and
katahdin(machine name).local all work?
I can't figure out why it's not able to see the storage directories...

Thanks. From the Schedule screen, if you press the space bar or
return, it will bring up the recording rule editor and allow you to
select a variety of options for your recording rule. Lots of good
information in the official docs:

What is the path to your storage locations? I have an external drive
dedicated to Myth. Path is /Volumes/Theatre/Mythical for the
recording files, /Volumes/Theatre/MythVidSupport for banners and
fanart, etc.

Oh, sorry. To answer your questions, I'm using an older Mac Pro with System
10.8.2 and an HDHomerun prime with a cable card.
I'm not sure I have any recording rules set up. I'm just going to the program
guide and telling it to record a program.

That's cool! I didn't know about the webserver.

Glad it is working now. Just for interest, which Mac model and OS

What kind of recording rule have you set up? Record at any time on
any channel is usually the best option. The backend log should

I received an error with pythonw3.1 and python3.1 but changed it to python2.6
and it ran. So I get it now. What is the difference between python2.6 and

I've got Python 3.1 installed by macports. I want to set up Python
Launcher. Is this the correct path to add to my preferences,
/opt/local/bin/pythonw3.1? The only reason I ask is that this is an alias.

Thank you Craig. This has helped a lot. I have created a new database and have
gotten all the way through the setup process and I can confirm that the
database has been created and filled with mythfilldatabase.
My only problem now seems to be launching the frontend. When I launch the

Dear all,
I am having a few problems with XPM. I am a novice so it could be something
that I am doing wrong. I have not yet been able to install any port software
yet (I have tried to install Gimp and povray) and each time I receive the

Hello
I need some help.
Currently libgd2 is installed on OS X 10.6 server. The stock apache must be
used.
Is it possible to configure it to use the newly installed libgd2 and related
libraries???
Thanks!
