I'm trying to build gtk2 for quartz on Snow Leopard. My variants.conf has
+quartz +no_x11. However, one of the dependencies, tk, fails to build.
Possibly related to ticket 20779, but my error messages are different.
Any idea what I've done wrong, or how to work around this? Is it suspicious
that so

My MacPorts 1.7.1 installation seems to be broken. It was fine before I
upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard last night. What do I need to do to
fix this?
$ sudo port -d selfupdate (or any port command)
dlopen(/opt/local/share/macports/Tcl/pextlib1.0/Pextlib.dylib, 10): no

hasn't been patched to look for guile16 and
slib-guile16 instead of guile and slib-guile. It either hangs (if you have
slib-guile) or just fails (if you don't).
So bottom line, the gnucash configure file is no good to you unpatched. For
me, macports takes care of that patching.
ou trying to compile GnuCash yourself
rather than "port install gnucash"?

I can't seem to install slib-guile without a hang during the activation
stage. Any ideas? I looked through the tickets but they all seemed to be
focused on slib-guile16.
Cheers,

Olaf,
Before I joined the list, I saw an email from you in October (see
http://lists.macosforge.org/pipermail/macports-users/2008-October/012020.html)
about
trying to package gnucash with "port mdmg". Were you ever successful in
working around the error? I ask because I now have the same problem.
$
trying.

Thanks everyone for the help! I think this gives me enough to try again.
I'll give it another shot in a day or so (I'm in transit the next 24 hours)
and see how it goes.

Greetings,
I am one of the GnuCash developers, so I read with some excitement Olaf
Foellinger's report that he was able to build GnuCash without X11. If I can
repeat his success and test it out, I hope that at some point we might be
able to begin offering GnuCash for Mac in native form.
However, I
