I have mono 1.9.1 and MacPorts for Leopard installed on a PPC mac running
OSX Leopard. When I run sudo port install mono I eventually get:

Error: Status 1 encountered during processing. 

According to the Mono developers this is a MacPorts issue that was fixed
before. I ran the same on an Intel Mac with Tiger (OSX 10.4) installed and
it did not throw an error. 

 

How do I get around this?
