Hi,
just a quick note: Strobe will host a SproutCore Party across the
street from the Moscone Center at Jillian's on Monday night:

Might be good to keep in mind :)
Cheers,

Pivotal has us tentatively on the calendar for Monday June 6th, assuming we
want that date. Because of fire codes they can only have 50 attendees though,
so we should perhaps most a signup sheet somewhere. I'll create an EventBrite
page unless we want to put it on the wiki or the SF Ruby meetup

no strong reason; just the fact that Mondays tend to
be light on Meetups, so we'd avoid some clashes there

Why Monday instead of Wednesday, out of curiosity?
Pivotal Labs is open to letting us use their offices for the meetup, and can
help coordinate things. I'll ask them if either day is available or not, and
see if that simplifies the question.

It isn't all that easy to find out which evenings are
hammered for WWDC. It appears that:
Mon 6 -
Tue 7 - might conflict w/ Design Awards
Wed 8
Thu 9 - bad; conflicts with WWDC Bash
Fri 10 - bad; many folks are leaving
I realize that lots of folks are loathe to go out on

Weird. I'm friends with Erik and never knew he gave a talk about MacRuby. That
makes it easy to convince him to do it :)

his MacRuby intro talk. This might be a good way for local
Rubyists to get some background information before we start

50 is easily doable. I've contacted a few companies I know around Moscone who
would likely be interested in hosting. I'm pretty sure one of them will be
amenable.
Assuming that works out, what are people interested in organizing at the
meetup? I'm somewhat partial to happy-hour format, in which
Hi Christian,
According to https://www.macruby.org/trac/wiki/MacRubyWWDC09, about 20, but I
remember there were many more people coming that night (maybe 2x more). And
MacRuby is way more popular this year. I think that if the meetup is properly
advertised, at least 50 people will come.

Hey Laurent,
How many people came last year? I can start asking around and see if any local
companies have the space to host a meetup.

I would be glad to attend any MacRuby meetup during WWDC, and reply to any
question and discuss MacRuby's current state and future.
Rich, if you still desire to organize something, please go ahead. Last year I
tried to organize something but it was a failure, too ma
Looking at http://www.sfruby.info/#upcoming, I don't
see anything scheduled during WWDC (June 6-10). If
the WWDC attendees in the crowd can settle on a date
(ideally, one that works for Jordan and Laurent :-),
I'll be happy to put in the schedule.
I can probably also find a venue for the event; l

Works for me, particularly if it's in a venue that's
open to the general public. We can list it on SFRuby
and let folks meet each other...

I was able to grab a ticket in time too.
Are there any MacRuby-related events planned yet? If not, we should coordinate
an informal meetup.
