I have the same problem on my macbook, too. I just play some sound to get
rid of the problem. echoing yes is not a good solution since it uses 100%
cpu.

Are there people on this list that use Debian Etch RC1?
I have it on my Mini. After applying the latest firmware update I
popped in the Debian CD and let it use the entire harddisk. No more
MacOSX, I just use it as an at home Linux-server.
It runs quite nice except two problems:

of my Macbook Pro (near the AC plug). The noise seem to be related to
frequency management, since it gets *worse* when I throttle the CPU frequency
down (e.g. by governor "ondemand").
It is not there with kernel 2
