[Mactel-linux-users] Unable to boot into CentOS?

I've been trying to get an install of CentOS 5.0 working on an Intel Core2Duo iMac, and have not had any success. The installation goes fine, but then I am unable to boot into the system. With linux rescue, I can get a command prompt, and from what I've been able to figure out, the problem is with

This link in your email claimed 30-40 minutes savings on some laptop when using dynticks and hi-res timers but people on this list claimed that it made very little difference and I've read on another blog that it reduced power usage by a few watts at most. Has anyone had a difference experience?
