The avivo driver (for the ATI X1600 video card
g is from Julien Cristau and the packages should be in
Debian soon (see #428777 and #428776). You will also find some help on
how to use git in those 2 bug reports.

I could not use an EFI kernel with linux since 2.6.18. So the only
solution is to use rEFIt and lilo.

CPU is set in low power until something wake it. This happen at a low
enough frequency to have effect at an audible sound frequency.
You can avoid the noise by running something like "yes > /dev/null" for example.

after booting. I had "vga=796" in my /etc/lilo.conf. It worked well a
few times but could not boot with it now. Even after a power off/power
on cycle.
Maybe the BIOS provided by Apple or ATI or etc. is not so great?
And I need
a
firmware upgrade but does not give any URL or specific information
about _which_ upgrade is needed.
