I'm very annoyed by the loud 'bong' my macbook pro utters
every time I forget to mute the volume before shutting down OSX.
I just found a simple way to silence it. The good news
are that OSX seems to remember my volume settings
from some file so silencing the system audio volume
in NVRAM really on

was working seamlessly with the ATI driver w/o kernel module.
When I played a DVD I found out that performance sucked because
there was no XVideo support w/o the fglrx kernel module.
