For me, suspend-to-ram simply didn't work. It would put the machine

I tried suspend to RAM on my mini Core Duo, but I hadn't much luck.
This is what I observed:
Suspend seems to work. The power light pulses after this. Pressing the
power button again wakes up the mini.
