I was also thinking about something like this recently but I don't
have windows installed so it would be nice to first hear from someone
who does whether this works or not. I'm not sure if the underclocking
would stick after a reboot but if so this would be an ideal solution
to this pr

i just converted a shell script for the thinkpad-laptops to use
applesmc. now at least i got fan speed less then 4000rpm.
but please do me a favour: do not use the script, really! do NOT use it,
i just tested it and i always have on eye on the terminal, which prints
the temperature. so
