It does. Only problem seems to be that, when you want to read just one
chapter, and you highlight it, if interacting to go down VoiceOver
jumps to top. At least, in my case. Searching, maybe?

is able to handle all 18 system languages, but only English is

What you are describing is what I found most frustrating when I made
the switch to the Mac. Thankfully, it became a jillion times easier,

This split reading happens in Snow Leopard when the message comes in
the HTML format. To get rid of this annoyance, press the shortcut
command+option+p to change the format to plain text and it will read
fine.
