I think it hides all your mailboxes. If you hit it again it unhides them all.

Right, so the optical cable I got has a small headphone jack shape on
one end and the typical square shape on the other going into my receiver
to do the 5.1 decode. Works great. If you don't have a 5.1 receiver you
can also get a standalone decoder but then you'll need to run that into
6 amps.

Thanks for the very helpful information. I wanted to try a few things before
buying a $99 program to fix the disk. I restored my drive from my Superdooper
backup and it doesn't work better when I boot up from the internal hard drive.
I used disk utility to erase the drive before the restore.
Have you updated your Mac lately? I think this might have been the reason mine
worked.
Also, I think SSL has to be disabled. Not sure what the case is for you.
