Opening a Contiguous Set of Text Files Into a Single Document

I have 16 text files from scanning pages. I want to open them and have them all be one continuous text file. Is there a way to select these 16 text files in finder and then open them or paste them into a single document? Sort of like a book binder app. Dave Carlson Woodworker, Musician,

Dear all, I want to thank each of you who took time to give ideas on why I was failing so badly. Because of you, I can now edit callendar events. I can add attachments and read them. Mail is still a hit and miss but its getting better! I haven't been back to pages yet, nit I think I know how to
