Check mailbox bdehavers and see if there is something in there. So under
prefrences, accounts. Select the account and there is a mailbox behaviors tab
where you can change the way mailboxes sync and other behavers. Thanks.

This was happening regardless of which mailbox I had selected. I had to do
some playing around with mailbox behaviors, something I’ve never attempted to
do anything with, and eventually found that my option to have my deleted
messages moved to option somehow ended up being switched to “none.”
