Well, apple has assumed that everyone that uses VoiceOver uses direct touch. I know I have never had an issue with it. Anyway, if you insist using follow focus, the thing you will have to do when you want to swipe up, is put the remote in navigation mode. To do this triple tap with 2 fingers
