Ray,
The problem persists whether or not you launch it. It starts when you install
it and update it and its plugins. It must be something to do with what it does
to alter the system.
I have zapped it and restarted, and thus far I've not had a problem. (touch
wood.)

Hello,
Let me add a little more to this discussion. I have never had Audio Hijack or
any of it's needed utilities on any of my recent installations of OSX and I
still have the crashing problems. I am running OS X 10.6.8.

Hi Ray,
The fact is that at least in my case I didn't experience any of these crashes
until I'd installed Audio Hijack and its plugins. That was a span of about
three months from when I got my MBP. Now, I've uninstalled both, and the
crashes haven't happened yet.
Best,
Zack.

There is the Rogue Amoeba Schedule Helper that is running all of the time. So
it does not matter if you launch audio high jack pro or not.

Okay, actually, I have to tell you that I do not think it's Audio Highjack
related. Why? Sometimes, I get the crashes even before I launch Audio
Highjack Pro.

Hi Ray,
Well, one of us will have to start at the previous version of the software, and
install each thing one at a time and see where it begins to pop up. I think I
pretty much narrowed it down to either the system sound plugin or the
scheduling plugin. If I were to lay odds, I'd bet the system
now that you mention it, I have both soundflower and audiohijack pro installed.
what is the name of that application zapper? I might have to forcibly remove AH
pro and Soundflower in order to solve my voiceover problems.

Question seems to be this. Which plug in specifically?
I reckon they need to know about this.

Hi Chris,
Now you mention it, I do recall installing Audio Hijack myself and only seeing
this issue after it was installed. I think you may have hit the nail on the
head, and wonder if it's worth reporting to the Rogue Amoeba team so they can
look into their plugin?
Best,
Zack.

Hello folks,
Actually, I have figured out the reason why VO randomly stops talking when
you're navigating and doing other important things. It has to do with Audio
Hijack. Let me preface this by saying that I have just updated to 10.6.8. I
bought my new Macbook Pro at the end of March 2011. Unti

Hi Ray,
I think one potential cause is rapid key presses. I've found that if I type
quickly and do a lot of things in a short time, VO is more likely to crash. It
isn't a surefire cause, but it does seem to contribute to the problem.
Also, I discovered that even when VO appeared to crash in one
Well, for me, I still get VO crashes every once in a while; particulary when
I'm adjusting sliders and the like.
VO+shift+K doesn't seem to help much.
Any other ideas?

Hi all,
Considering all the complaints I've heard about 10.6.7 and VO instability, and
Facebook Problems, I just did the update and been running it through it's
paces. I'm pretty impressed so far. Seems really stable and quite fast as
well.
