Listers,
For a mysterious reason, Abbyy Fine Reader Express, which I have successfully
been using for years, also since upgrading to Maverick, has decided to go
haywire. Every time I try to convert a .tiff file which I had created in
vuescan, it crashes. I can’t do the conversion at all.

Hello guys.
I bought VueScan; I got the update forever professional one for $79. I also
already had Abby Fine Reader Express. Anne, I went through the setup process
that you sent me; I still have it on my computer in case I need to reread it
and things set in my brain. Here's my question.
I have heard that the Fujitsu 1100 portable scanner comes with ABBY and I know
that a scanner I bought several ears ago came with a copy of ABBY that was not
as fuctional as the current one is. So you might want to look at if it comes
bundled with the scanner you are thinking of purchasing, per
You can use Abby without first printing the files. Indeed, this is how many
people use it since it does not directly support all scanners.

Hello everyone. I'm going to purchase Abby Fine Reader but don't have a scanner

contain scanned images directly or do I have to print the files and scan them?

Hi Anne and others who might need this.
I just whipped up an automation script that basically converts an opened pdf or
image or whatever into the same file name and as a text. This will probably be
usefull for anyone who doesn't want to bother with the entire process each time.

Many thanks for that. Turns out I did most of it already. Thing is, when I

I saw this app in the Mac store. I was wondering if its level of accessibility

In my opinion, complaining can create a solution just as much as reading a
