So Jelal, if you choose Greek as default language for your system, can you
still read English text correctly? It’s so annoying because if I don’t have to
choose Spanish for instance as default system language if I want to read
Spanish text. The language changes automatically; It doesn’t work
Ok, Ben, but have you tried to use Greek voice to read Greek text? I’ve been
having the same bug for a few years now in that VO voice for Greek but also
InfoVoxivox Dimitris Greek voice spell the text letter by letter rather than
read it by words or sentences. Have you experienced it too?

Hello. I use the Greek language and I have no problem with macOS Mojave 10.14.5.
Hold down control option command shift and select the Greek Voice.
Go to VoiceOver settings and select default voice in Greek.
Go to system settings and select the Greek language as default and restart your
system.

I am a Greek native speaker but unfortunately I am not running 10.14 and
therefore I can’t help you.
However, If you mean that the Greek voice spells out everything and not
speaking Greek properly, then, as far as I know, the problem is still there.
