you don't need to use the mouse to do this. When you're in the paragraph styles
table, even though each style is reported as a button, interact with it. Then
you can get to the menu with the keyboard.

Still regarding Pages, how do I assign styles to hotkeys? I found a guide on
Applevis, but it says that there will be a popup button next to each style in
the Paragraph Styles popover, which is simply not true. A comment on that guide
also suggested that these assignments are specific

That popup menu shows up in the latest Pages only when you create a new style.
