I'm still a member of the VarioUltra list.  We have received news there that 
production and service of thee VU will be resumed by a new company that bought 
out Baum.  They are apparently named VisioBraille.  I am posting a translation 
of their German web-page--all they have for now--for anyone who may be 
interested.  It's pretty general, but definitely a step in the right direction.
