One thing you might not be aware of is that disk utility in Recovery mode
crashes VoiceOver.
Its a bug and very annoying.

I installed Big Sur on my MacBook Pro when it first came out.
I was having some issues that I was hoping to resolve by erasing my drive and
starting over.
When I went into disk utilities, I wasn't able to erase my drive, that option
was dimmed out.
So I went into recovery mode hoping
