Absolutely agree with getting the more powerful system. It will remain
your friend far longer that way.
I also agree with Simon's point that you might want more storage.
PS: Anymore I personally consider 32Gb RAM a minimal system. I prefer as
much RAM as I can afford, with my second priority

probably got more power than I need with my MacBook now, but I
apple have just confirmed the refund for the MacBook by email. I
decided that a mac Mini would meet my use-cases more wholesomely than
a MacBook. Initially the plan was to stick to the same hardware
parameters - 16GB ram, 256GB ssd and an i5 processor. The nice man
from Apple however is offering
