The other thing to know about this is that the script first sees if it can send
AppleEvents to VoiceOver, and if it can't then it will use the AppleScript
command "say".
This can even be modified be the command to specify a voice to use.
But if you want to use the VoiceOver voice , open

Yes, you can. Go into System Preferences, Accessibility, then select Spoken
Content”. You can change the voice, and rate of speech.

As far as I’m aware you cannot. Mine will toggle between my VoiceOver voice
and my announcement voice which is separate. It randomly decides which it
wants to use.

When I hit Option-t, Voiceover announces date I would like to change
this voice that tells the date Can I do that? If yes, how can that be
done, please?
