Rebecca, You should be able to check battery status in the Menu Extras area. On my MacBook Pro, a battery item was there by default. When using macOS Catalina, and earlier versions of macOS, you can set a VoiceOver Hotspot that you can use to read the battery status with a VoiceOver keyboard

Commanders can point to wherever you want, not just to scripts in your library folder. So yes, you can dump the Talking Dashboard folder in there, as-is, or you can copy all the files and paste them into your scripts folder if you like. You could even put them in dropbox, so you always have

the ammount of time remaining can change alot depending on wha tyou are doig at the time for example I can get 7 hours when i fire up th emac and am not doing anything but it settles down to a reasonable 5 hours after a littl ebit it is based on current power consumption rates and such
