Something else I just discovered. I was going through my News Feed and got to
an article I wanted to open I hit L thinking it might open the link in a new
window or safari, but it actually opened a like dialogue of some kind which I
thought was great but unfortunately it caused me to get stuck i
Agreed as I think this program does act differently on a machine running
Mavericks and a machine running Yosemite as I have played around with it on
both. I think all you need to do is VO space bar to open the messages and so
on, and it seems to kick you out of html content in to a new tab with
How do you try to access the messages and inbox windows and so on? I find that
if i try to access the separate windows through the menu extentions or the doc,
i can’t but if i go into the app and press command+1 i get to the buddy list,
command+2 takes me to the inbox and command+3 gets me to th
I wonder if this is different between computers? I’m running an iMac mid 2011
with Yosemite and as far as i know i don’t see this kind of problem here. I
have another somewhat strange issue though, Sometimes my voiceover goes in to
what i would call a loop for lack of a better word, it sorta rea
Beginning to think this app is not totally accessible or a little buggy with
VO, as it is causing VO to crash a lot on my system, and earlier today I got
the story options menu to open where I could hide certain posts from my
timeline, but now I cannot seem to get story options to work again and
I also can’t get notifications and messages to open up in a separate window.
they all seem to be opening up in the same window. Is there a setting I adjust
somewhere which will do this?
Thanks

Couldn’t agree with you more Jonathan about people in this thread offering good
constructive feedback. Not sure if I need to do a permission repair on my
machine running Mavericks as I just launched MenuTab which I have not used in a
very long time. The very first post I went to comment on I got
Frankly I think people are quite entitled to express an opinion on whether they
consider an app value for money, or indeed whether it adds any value to their
user experience of any kind, without it being called whining. All the
discussion I've seen in this thread has contained people expressing
Yes, the shortcut keys actually do work in the app. Another thing that makes me
like Current is the fact that notifications, buddy list and inbox are in
separate windows that you can call up with a keyboard command and when you’ve
read the messages in those windows you can close them with comman
Does Current literally reproduce the website, like Menutab, or does it have
easier ways of skipping around or anything? I presume if it really is just like
the site, the shortcut keys work?

But Menutab is much, much slower. But to each their own. I happen rather to
like Current. What amazes me though is how now when a new facebook kid is on
the block, how people in this community whine about that the app in question
doesn’t offer more than a web page of Facebook, something that man
Am I the only one who seems to have Facebook crash VoiceOver fairly regularly?
I am on an older iMac still running Mavericks and half the time I load the
website for Facebook VO crashes and resets itself, so yes using an app like
this if it does not cause VO to crash would be useful. Thanks to a
So, you're paying money for an app that just displays the Facebook website? I
really don't see the advantage. As Jonathan said, you can set a shortcut to go
there in Safari, or simply leave the tab open all the time. Thanks for
confirming that this app doesn't offer anything beyond what the webs
And you can add Facebook to your favourites if you use it often enough, and get
to it by pressing CMD+a number in Safari, so it's pretty easy to get there via
the browser.

That may be so, but it doesn’t appear to offer any more than just accessing
Facebook from on safari. I actually would recommend menu tab over this as with
menu tab, you can hide it. This does not appear to be a functionality current
provides.

I for my part find it better than the web site just because it’s not the web
site. No boring going online with Safari or other browsers, no typing in
addresses etc, i just open the application and there it is in all its glory, or
should that be gory?:-)

As far as I can see, it isn't. A real frustration for me is that most of the
time, I don't have time to check my news feed, so I get notifications about
family and close friends whose updates I don't want to miss. If I go into
Notifications with Current, I can see the notifications, such as when
What no one has yet addressed is how this app differs from the full website?
One person said they want the links at the top gone, and to switch to mobile,
which sounds exactly like a website question. How is this app better than the
website?

My real thing si current is the interface. Is there no way to switch it to
mobile view? I don’t want to put up with all that other stuff at the top that
the regular layout has such as groups, apps and so on.

I personally and please note this is personal opinion, i think Current is very
good. It has some rough edges that has to be smoothed out but all in all it’s
faster than Menu tab for one. Another thing that i really like about Current is

I bought this, but kind of wish I hadn't. I'm not really clear after using it
what the advantages are of Current, as opposed to browsing with a web browser
and integrating Facebook Chat with the Messages app, which I find a pretty good
experience for live FB chatting. Would be good to hear from
Anyone using it? How good does VoiceOver work with it. I saw it listed on
AppleVis but only the poster has commented about it. I have MenuTab for
Facebook but have not used it in ages. Would love to hear if navigating your
timeline works well with VO and any other thoughts. Thanks,
