Hi,
Open the disk image file and go down and look for either the .app file or the
package installer.
If it's an .app file, copy it to your apps folder, then run it.
If it's a package installer, open that and it'll run you through the
installation.

Hi,
According to this Apple article:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482?viewlocale=en_USlocale=en_US
there is a version specifically for Lion. If that's the one that wasn't
working for you let me know or let me know the exact error it's giving you.
Otherwise, hope this helps.

for a number of years now so I'm not sure on it's Mavericks
I'm actually running Lion. and I couldn't install the Airport Utility 5.6.
there was a problem with the installer and it failed four times in a row. I
give up, I guess.

tim,
following up on my earlier messages, I know that this old Airport Express had
been assigned a password when we wanted to use it as a hub for multiple Wifi
devices when traveling abroad last year. the curious thing is, when I plug the

Hi,
The little hole is between the audio jack and the edge of the unit. You will
likely still have problems though if you can't get the older software
installed.

tim,
I found an article that explained the reason for my inability to install
Airport Utility 5.6. Apparently, the installer won't play nice with Lion.
but, an article I read said that I could get around this by getting a piece of
shareware called Pacifist. Now, here's my problem. I come
